About me

Hi, I’m Teya (she/her)

I’ve been a personal trainer since 2021, with the aim to create an inclusive space for people who feel like fitness isn’t ‘for them’.

The fitness industry was not an obvious choice for me, given that I have a disability that affects some of my movement and strength and I actively avoided exercise for most of my life. I felt intimidated by gyms and regularly let down by fitness professionals that didn’t know how to support me and my goals. I felt like exercise, and particularly strength training, just wasn’t for me.

When I found a personal trainer and gym environment that made me feel supported and welcome, I saw the incredible ways in which regular exercise changed my life and my relationship with my body.

I wanted to help make that happen for others that are so often let down by the fitness industry. Because if you want to exercise and move your body, then you should have access to do so, and I want to help you find the way that suits you and your goals best.

To do this, I am continually investing in my education as a fitness professional beyond my Level 3 Personal Training diploma, by studying with PT education provider, Faster Function, for continual, in-depth understanding on the science behind all the factors that affect our movement, and the best way to apply that to my clients’ goals.

Areas of particular interest and expertise:

  • Exercising with disability and chronic illness, including pain and fatigue management.

  • Autism and ADHD friendly workouts.

  • Staying active in later life.

  • Injury rehabilitation.

  • Strength training for everyone regardless of age or access needs.

Anyway, enough about me. What’s important is you, your goals and how I can support you.

Let’s Begin
